Understanding your needs
Psychiatric care begins with understanding the reason for seeking help. Assessment, treatment discussions and follow-up are guided by individual needs and clinical suitability.
A specialist consultation to understand the reason for referral, relevant history and what support may be appropriate.
Follow-up consultations may be offered where clinically appropriate and where the service has capacity.
With the person’s consent, relevant information may be shared with their GP or other treating professionals as appropriate.
Care is tailored to age, clinical needs and the treating psychiatrist’s scope of practice.
Appointments are currently offered via telehealth only. You need a private space, a reliable connection and a device with a camera and microphone.
Suitability depends on clinical needs, age, location and the treating psychiatrist’s scope of practice. Nationwide availability is not guaranteed.
A referral is reviewed before an appointment can be offered. A referral does not guarantee acceptance. Discuss urgent or changing needs with an appropriate treating service rather than waiting for website correspondence.
